I could have posted so many photo’s today. Images of Charlotte playing on her bodyboard, the huge smile on her face as she laughs and plays in the waves… in her own words “Epic Fun”. Images of Elizabeth dancing and running along the beach or of her having fun creating art in the sand. Images of them together running along the beach smiling and laughing. Instead, today I have chosen to share the message Elizabeth created for everyone to see.
As a mother I feel one of the most important roles I feel I play is to help instil in my daughters a strong sense of self belief, too see themselves as beautiful and strong, and develop in them an I can attitude, that no matter they want to do, with a little hard work they can do anything. To me this all starts with a sense of self. They need to love themselves first and from here everything else blossoms.
Yesterday while her sister was having an “Epic” time in the surf, Elizabeth chose to spend most of her time play in the sand. She started firstly by making a love heart, but the surf kept washing it away so she moved to higher ground. Once done, she then added the “I” and came over to me wanting me to look, she started to talk to me about how to finish it. I suggested “me”, well her little face just lit up and I could see that this resonated well with her. She was so proud of herself, just as I am of her. I think this is one that I will print for her, as a constant reminder of the importance to love yourself first.
