Kicking off the new year with a personal photography project celebrating my family. Each day during January, a photo of my children. This year I’m challenging myself some more to do the whole project in black and white. Please follow along, and if you would love to join me, let me know as I would love to follow your January as well xo
Being inspired by one of my favourite blog Little Girls with Great Big Dreams, I decided that this year we would create some affirmation cards for my girls. Renee in her article about affirmation cards for kids talks about these cards being a wonderful way to install self confidence in children and a way to help them pause and remember suggestions for their behaviour, mindset and self esteem. These are all things that I personally have been working on developing in myself and I wanted to be able to help my girls grow as well into confident young ladies.
A couple of days ago, I made up little cardboard cards for them with the affirmations on them. Charlotte was with me when I did them, so she immediately set about decorating half of the cards with lots of love.
Today Elizabeth was in the Studio with me, so while I worked she tuned out listening to music and decorating some of the cards that I had put together for her and Charlotte. I plan to now laminate them so that they last and then each day the girls can choose a card for the day. I can’t wait for them to start using them to help develop a more positive way of living.
